When installing a black pipe union, what do I dope in the center?

Obviously I dope both ends, but what about the center? Do I dope the bevel or the center threads or neither or both or what?
I normally use TFE paste.

Gas fitters dope the threads of each fitting.

Tungsten Wedding Rings

There is no doubt that the popular choices are gold, platinum and titanium.  But there are drawbacks in choosing any of these.  First of all, gold is quite a soft metal.  It is prone to getting misshapen.  Platinum and titanium are both durable and can withstand normal wear and tear, but they have hefty price tags to boot.  If quality and price are the main factors, then give tungsten rings a try.

Tungsten is a metal that has been around for quite some time.  Tungsten rings have been around for a while as well, but have just started becoming popular these days.  They’re very durable.  In fact, tungsten is stronger than other metals and needs little care.  Not that married couples would not care for their wedding ringsat all, but they do not have to fuss over their rings all the time.

In choosing tungsten wedding rings, there are two things to consider: the ring shape and the ring finish.  The ring shape includes the pipe cut, domed or concave.  The types of ring finishes include brushed, polished and beveled.  Since tungsten rings cannot be engraved in the traditional way, the extra cost of laser etching has to be factored in as well.

The most common designs of tungsten wedding rings are either grooved or inlaid with gold or silver.  Sometimes black or white carbon fiber is used for an edgier look.  On other occasions, ceramic is used for the inlay.  Diamonds can be set as well.  Since laser etching is used, the engravings can be as simple or as intricate depending on what the couple wants.  They can opt for a simple cross or a Celtic design, or even create their own.  The pattern choices are endless.

The width of the ring ranges from 6 millimeters to 10 millimetres for men, and 4 millimetres to 8 millimetres for women.  With this range of sizes, tungsten rings tend to weigh a bit heavily on the finger.  But with the perfect fit, the wearer would be comfortable in the years to come.  Usually, the rings come in a polished finish.  It is not too shiny, and has more of a matte finish.  There is a shiny polish as well, which looks really attractive.

One more reason why tungsten is a good choice is the price.  Rings made of this metal cost less than other rings.  But that does not mean its quality is inferior.  Tungsten rings can last a lifetime – or a whole marriage for that matter.  They are practically unbreakable.  In fact, the ring has to be broken off in case of an emergency.

Couples, let your love be as untarnished and indestructible as the rings that you wear.  Tungsten rings will surely withstand the ups and downs of marriage.
